Things to Do

We are very fortunate to be located in one of the most beautiful and pristine locations on Kood Island, where we have both beach, rocks, and a small hill. You can see the beautiful sunset up high from various spots such as at our restaurant, at the sunset decks on the hillock, at the north and south beach, at the Shantaa Bar-Bara, and Shantaa Gati Cafe. At night, you can watch the moon and the stars before you go to bed. Shantaa is also surrounded by many opportunities for outdoor exploration and fun (of course, you also have the option of doing nothing at all as well). From fishing enthusiasts to experienced divers, Shantaa offers activities for guests of various interests.

We have free activities that you can do yourself. For example, you can take off down the bight for an afternoon kayaking or just swimming along the beach. You can fish on the rock or fish out in the open sea with an arranged fishing boat. On a half-day trip, you can explore the crystal clear waters at nearby islands with complimentary snorkeling gear. You can also stay ashore and explore the diverse wildlife on your hike.

Furthermore, we can arrange a trip to some of the most beautiful, exotic, and historical sights on the island such as the Klong-Chao waterfall with our King Rama 4’s initial on the rock. As you can see, there are numerous activities for those who are active. We can’t tell you exactly which experience will let you realize you are in paradise. That is for you to find out. But we know that when you leave, you will miss Shantaa and you will miss us.

Do you know what is the most popular activity at Shantaa? It is the doing-nothing type of activity. Most guest came here to be lazy and they did exactly just that!

Waterfalls

Klong chao waterfall: The marvelous waterfall Nam Tok Khlong Chao (Klong Chao waterfall) or Than Sanuk Waterfall, which was visited by King Rama 4th in 1911, is one of the most beautiful spots to be found on Ko Kood. It consists of 3 tiers: the upper two are running streams and the lower one is a large pond - an ideal place for swimming. However, the waterfall is beautiful like this only for a couple months from the rainy season onward. The best time to visit is from June-Nov. The waterfall usually dries out from Nov onward until the next rain.

Klong Kii waterfall: Koh Kood also has Klong Kii waterfall, the second largest on the island. Although it is smaller, it is also very beautiful. The best time to visit is from June – Nov.
