  • 14. Bugs problem?

Koh Kood is still naturally intact. So basically, Shantaa was built in the wild. Bugs and small wild animals should be expected. And hence, sand flies should be expected on the beach. If you are allergic to their bites, you should avoid lying or walking on the dry part of the beach, especially at dusk, and use protective insect repellent. Mosquitoes should also be expected, especially after rain and in the early evening on days with no winds. Applying mosquito repellant is always a good idea to keep all bugs away. The mosquito repellants are known to work well with sand flies too. Mosquitoes usually clock in around the evening time. Gecko is a common type of regular visitor at Shantaa. Gecko eats bugs and light attracts bugs. To avoid any encounter, it is a good idea to turn off all unnecessary lights at night to keep away the bugs, hence, the geckos.
